Dr Ruben Richards

Hello! This is my story.

Ruben is a South African blue-collar tradesman with a PhD from the University of Cape Town (Social Science Faculty). He has diverse skills and knowledge-set and is well suited to present these seminars. His working career started on the factory floor but has was later also employed at an executive level in government, the private sector and academia. He is a company director and has previously occupied positions such as founder and former Deputy Director-General of the Scorpions, CEO of one of the largest marine and general engineering companies in Cape Town,  Advisor to the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA’s Accelerated Artisan Training Programme, Consultant to Anti-Corruption Commissions on behalf of the United Nations and a visiting Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Public and Development Management (University of Witwatersrand).

Ruben is an independent and private consultant and well placed to address the topics which are central to his book, “Bullets or Ballots” – nominated for the 2011 Sunday Times Alan Paton Literary Award. For more about Ruben see www.rubenrichards.co.za
